Working Session Minutes
August 21, 2017 – 4:00 P.M.

Mayor Andrews called the working session to order at 4:00 p.m.
Mayor Andrews introduced Police Officer Corey Haynes. Mayor Andrews then administered the Oath of Office to Officer Haynes.
Electric Director Poole stated the annual meter testing was completed last week. He noted that 12 sites were tested and no errors were found.
Building Official Larson stated a zone change application request and the first reading of the proposed junk vehicle ordinance are both on the regular agenda.
City Clerk Brown stated GMA will host the District 7 fall meeting on Tuesday, September 19th in Thompson.
City Attorney Wynne stated he is still working on the conveyance of Loos Road and will get with Building Official Larson as well as a representative from Thiele Kaolin.
City Administrator McCorkle stated she has a brief executive session item.
Public Works Director Eubanks stated there have been some issues with garbage not being picked up on Gilmore Street. He has been in contact with a representative from Advanced Disposal and they are supposed to take care of the missed pick-ups tomorrow morning. City Administrator McCorkle then discussed the contact with Precision Waste who was recently bought out by Advanced Disposal.
Mayor Andrews stated the leaf and limb pickup is behind. Mayor Andrews added there are several areas in the City where the grass on the right-of-way needs to be cut. Public Works Director Eubanks stated they are currently short a driver for the leaf and limb pickup and also short a part time worker on the street maintenance crew. City Administrator McCorkle and Public Works Director Eubanks discussed hiring a contractor for leaf and limb pick up as well as right-of-way grass cutting until new employees can be hired.
City Clerk Brown stated the fall trash amnesty day has been scheduled for October 21, 2017.
Mayor Andrews adjourned the Working Session at 4:20 p.m.
