Criminal Investigations Division

The Criminal Investigation Division of the Sandersville Police Department is responsible for investigations of criminal activity within the city and arresting offenders for violations of state laws and local ordinances. The Criminal Investigation Division is lead by Captain Ken Parker under the direction of Police Chief Victor Cuyler.
 

Captain Ken Parker

Captain Ken Parker serves as Captain of Sandersville’s Criminal Investigation Division. He started with the Sandersville Police Department in 2015 was promoted to Captain over the division in 2016. Captain Parker brings a wealth of experience to Sandersville including drug and gang investigations as well as being a Certified Instructor.

Ken Parker began his law enforcement career in 1999 with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department where is started as a jailer and then moved into the patrol division earning promotions all the way to the Captain over the patrol division. He also taught for a brief time at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center. Captain Parker holds an Associate Degree from ABAC and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Kaplan University.

Lieutenant Pauline Brown

Lieutenant Pauline Brown is Sandersville’s first African American female detective. Lt Brown joined the SPD in 2000 as a part-time Records Clerk and became full time in 2001 at which time she completed mandate training. Lt Brown worked in Sandersville’s Road Patrol division from  2001 until 2012, starting as an officer and was promoted all the way to Lieutenant. Lt Brown transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division in 2012.

 

Lieutenant Jeff Pettit

Lieutenant Jeff Pettit started his career with the Sandersville Police Department in 2007 when he attended mandate training. Lt Pettit worked in the Road Patrol Division, starting as an officer and was promoted to Sergeant. Lt Pettit was then promoted to the Certification Manager in 2013. Lt Pettit transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division in 2014.
