The Sandersville Police Department is proud of the quality of service we provide to our community. Our members are hard working professionals dedicated to keeping Sandersville a safe place to live, work, and raise a family. We accomplish this with our firm commitment to the philosophy of community oriented policing. This philosophy means we partner with the community in identifying and solving problems to improve the quality of life for our residents.
The Sandersville Police Department is comprised of three divisions: records, criminal investigation and patrol. The members of the Sandersville Police Department are dedicated to:

- Protecting life and property.
- Providing the highest quality of police services.
- Resolving problems.
- Enhancing safety and improving the quality of life.
We also emphasize ongoing collaboration with residents, neighborhood associations, school officials, members of thebusiness community, service clubs and community-based organizations with the goal of crime prevention and intervention.
MEET THE CHIEF
Victor K. Cuyler is Chief of the Sandersville Police Department. Chief Cuyler is a native of Washington County and a graduate of the Washington County High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps from September 1983 until September 1990 and ended his active service with an Honorable Discharge.
He joined the Sandersville Police Department March 23, 1992. He is a certified instructor through Peace Officers Standard and Training for the State of Georgia. He attended Georgia Military College and received an Associate Degree in General Studies. He has completed Chiefs School through the Georgia’s Association of Chiefs of Police.
Chief Victor K. Cuyler is also an ordained minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He pastors Springfield Fellowship Church of Harrison, Georgia. He married Angie Cuyler in 1994 and they have five children.
